Booking & pickup

How does a DIY rental work?

You book online, pick the booth up from us in San Antonio, set it up at your venue, and bring it back the next day. You keep it for a full 24 hours and run it yourself, which is why it costs far less than a staffed booth.

When do I pick it up and return it?

Your rental is 24 hours. About a week before your event, you pick your pickup and drop-off times in My Rental from the times we have open. Need to change it? Let us know ahead of time. Late returns are $50 for each extra day.

Will it fit in my car?

Yes. The booth, tripod and accessories are packed to fit in a standard car. Elite adds a backdrop kit and folding table, so a bit more trunk space helps.

Do you serve areas outside San Antonio?

Yes, we serve San Antonio and the surrounding areas. Tell us your event city when you book and we'll confirm.

Setup & venue

Is it hard to set up?

No. You get step-by-step setup videos and an interactive checklist that walks you through each part: tripod, power, flash, printer and backdrop. Plan for two people, since lifting the booth onto the tripod is a two-person job.

How much space do I need?

About a 10×10 foot area. For Elite, the backdrop sits 8 to 10 feet in front of the booth.

What about power?

You need one standard outlet within 25 feet. We include a 25-foot extension cord.

Can I use it outdoors?

Yes, as long as the booth is under a covered patio, roof or tent. Keep it out of direct sunlight so the equipment doesn't overheat.

Photos & prints

What's the difference between Essentials and Plus?

Prints. Essentials is digital only: guests get photos by text, email or QR code. Plus adds a pro photo printer and 150 4×6 prints so guests take a copy home.

Does the booth need Wi-Fi?

Only for live sharing. Printing works offline. Text, email and QR sharing need a stable Wi-Fi connection, which you provide (a phone hotspot works). Without Wi-Fi, the booth keeps working and sends the queued photos once it's back online.

Can the photos match my theme?

Yes. Every package includes a custom photo template with your names, date or logo. You pick from our template gallery after you book, and you can also add a custom backdrop and themed props.

What if I don’t love any of the templates?

We can have one designed from scratch just for you for $25. After you book, tap “Don’t see one you love?” in My Rental, tell us your theme and colors, and add any pictures that help. You’ll get a first draft in 3 to 5 days, with 2 rounds of changes included. Order it at least 10 days before your event.

How do I get all the photos after the event?

Every package includes an online gallery with all the photos from your rental.

Payments & policies

How do I reserve my date?

A $100 deposit holds your date. It's non-refundable and goes toward your total.

When is the rest due?

The balance is due 7 days before your event. If it isn't paid by then, we may cancel the booking and keep the deposit.

Can I pay over time with Klarna or Affirm?

Yes. When you pay in full at checkout, or pay your balance later in My Rental, you can choose Klarna or Affirm and split it into smaller payments. They show you the plan and terms before you confirm, and they pay us upfront, so your date is just as secure. Pay-over-time works on payments over $100. The $100 deposit itself is paid by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.

What payment methods do you take?

All major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay, plus Klarna and Affirm if you'd like to pay over time.

What if I need to cancel?

The $100 deposit is non-refundable. If you cancel more than 7 days before your event, we refund anything else you paid. Within 7 days of your event, payments are non-refundable. If severe weather cancels your event, you can move your rental to a new date within 12 months. Text or call us as soon as you know.

What if something gets damaged?

You're responsible for the equipment during your rental, so please repack everything in its original cases. With our optional $29 Damage Waiver, accidental damage costs a flat $100 for the whole rental, no matter how many items. Without it, you pay the repair cost of each damaged item. Lost or stolen items are always charged at full replacement value. The Damage Waiver is not insurance.

Why do you need my ID and a card?

About a week before your event, we text you a link to My Rental, where you pick your pickup time, sign a short equipment agreement, verify your ID and save a card. It takes about 5 minutes. Your ID is checked by Stripe, our payments partner, and we only see that you're verified. Nothing is charged when you save your card.

What is the $100 hold?

At pickup we place a $100 hold on your saved card. It's a hold, not a charge, and we release it after we check everything in with you. If something is damaged, missing or late, we take it from the hold and send you an itemized receipt with photos. Debit cards work too, but the hold uses $100 of your funds until it's released.

Help during your event

What if something goes wrong?

Help is built into My Rental, the app you get when you book. It has setup videos, a step-by-step checklist, camera settings for your venue and fixes for common problems. Tap Ask and type what’s happening: it knows your booth and printer and answers in seconds, any time of day. You can also text James at 210-934-2600 during your rental.

What if the printer runs out of paper?

Plus and Elite include paper and ribbon for 150 prints. Expecting a big crowd? Add an extra 150 prints for $99 when you book. The support page shows how to reload.
